Intercountry adoption
If you are interested in intercountry adoption, we provide a service through an adoption agency called Adoption Matters Northwest we are your first point of contact for discussions/information and we will refer you on to this agency if you wish to proceed.
Adoption Matters Northwest provides a comprehensive information service relating to adoption from overseas. They will talk to you about what adoption means and the differences in relation to domestic and intercountry adoption. This service is provided to you free of charge and funded by Blackburn with Darwen Borough council.
Should you wish to proceed to be assessed as a potential adoptive parent for a child from overseas, then the government allows agencies to charge for this service. Adoption Matters Northwest will provide you with a breakdown of the charges with your fact sheet.
For further information contact the adoption team.
