DescriptionHeld on Tuesdays from 12noon till 2pm at Accrington Road Children’s Centre. Credit Union provides convenient and easy access to basic financial services like savings accounts and fair, low cost loans. Members can save as little or as much as they want up to the legal limit. All adult members receive a paying-in book to help keep track of their payments. An annual dividend is paid on savings. Any member over the age of 18 who has saved regularly for up to 3 months can apply for a loan. Credit Unions are limited by law to charging no more than 2% per month on the reducing balance of the loan. Our typical APR is 12.68%. All applications go to out credit committee who assess them against our own criteria and make decisions based on affordability, including looking at how much you have been saving regularly and the repayment of past Credit Union loans.
EligibilityAnyone living or working in Blackburn or Darwen can apply.   The application form is short and simple.
CostThere is a one-off cost of £1 per adult (over 16) and 50p per child. Proof of identity is required.
